Mental Health Association in Wayne County
Welcome
The Mental Health Association in Wayne County will promote and advocate for mental health wellness and recovery.
Dear Friends,
Like many of you, we at the Mental Health Association in Wayne County have witnesses the collapse of the Mental Health Association in North Carolina, Inc. through the news media. For the past 70 years, the Mental Health Association in North Carolina, Inc. has provided a voice for people with mental health disorders and for those who care for them. More recently, the Mental Health Association in North Carolina, Inc. has been an important provider of mental health and housing services. We are saddened to see the demise of an organization that has done much to improve the lives of citizens of North Carolina.
The Mental Health Association in Wayne County, however, is one of several independent affiliates operating across the state. We manage our own finances, file our own tax returns, and have the benefit of our own engaged and knowledgable board of directors. The Mental Health Association in Wayne County is fiscally sound. In short, our programs and activities will not be affected by this development.
Nevertheless, we are redoubling our efforts and rededicating ourselves to our mission to promote and advocate for mental health wellness and recovery. We are working closely with the remaining affiliates, and with our national organization to develop a plan to continue our important work together. As a movement, we can emerge from this crisis stronger than ever, but we need the support and participation of people like you to succeed. Will you join us?
Sincerely,
Amy J. Roux Kimberly Johnson, MD
